RATIONALE FOR MEMBERSHIP

The need to truly professionalise economics makes it imperative for practicing economists to acquire deeper knowledge of the job which they are doing. University graduates who have not been professionally trained and who are either economists or preparing to take up economists' appointment will need to be trained as professional economists in order to fit well into the job.
